INSTITUTION OF SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT (ISHEM) admits and register safety professional who have satisfactorily passed its Basic Certificate, Professional Certificate, diploma, Advanced Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) examinations. HSE/SHE professionals are admitted into appropriate grades of membership- ASHEM, MSHEM, FSHEM.
ISHEM promotes high standards of professionalism in safety, health and environmental management practice through education, training, meetings, conferences and information on latest HSE developments, accident prevention/reduction strategies, technology and innovation in relation to risks and hazards in terms of assessment, abatement, oversight and regulatory compliance, general administration of HSE etc.

COPOM- the College of Production And Operations Management was registered by the Federal Government in 2003 to provide professional education, training, publications and management consultancy services in all aspect of operations management with the power to establish and manage education and training institutions, centers, and schools; to organize specialists(such as security and safety/HSE specialists), to provide tuition training facilities, conduct examinations and administer Diploma Programmes and other Qualifications. Health and Safety is an aspect of production and Operations Management. Every production or operations director, manager, or engineer has HSE roles and responsibilities for the whole organization, the entire company operations, factory or plant in their care and for the employee they direct, control and supervise.
