Dr. Olaniyi Opanuga-Remodeling access to education at COPOM

The Provost and Dean of Studies, College of Production & Operations Management (COPOM), Dr. Olaniyi Opanuga has reiterated the institution’s role in improving graduate employability and boosting career prospects in Nigerian and other parts of the world.

Speaking at a training programme recently for a food and beverages company in Otta, Ogun State, Dr. Opanuga urged the participants to cultivate the habit of reading and continuous learning. “You can’t be looking for jobs or promotion and career growth with a stale CV and the theoretical knowledge you acquired in the University in a rapidly changing technology – driven and highly competitive global labour market” he advised.

He urged the young school leavers and graduates to learn new skills, research into new career areas, take up voluntary roles, connect with professional bodies and contact recruitment agencies with CV that is rich with certifications that are relevant to their desired job roles.

“At COPOM we make young graduates job ready with the qualification employers are looking for through a hybrid of online and classroom teaching at affordable fees”
